Elmira’s 2026 bulk leaf pickup is scheduled to begin Monday, Nov. 9, and continue through approximately Tuesday, Dec. 22.
The city’s Streets Division is asking residents to rake leaves to the curb, but not into the street. Leaves placed in the roadway can interfere with traffic and are outside the placement instructions issued for the collection.
Residents should not bag leaves for curbside pickup. The city says bagged leaves can no longer be collected as part of the bulk leaf program.
Leaves may also be taken to the City of Elmira compost site. Anyone using that option must remove the leaves from bags before leaving them at the site.
The end date is approximate, so residents planning to use curbside collection should follow the city’s placement directions and have their leaves ready during the announced collection period.
