The City of Ithaca has announced that convicted felons will no longer have to identify their criminal history on job applications. Ithaca is not the only city to do this. Over 100 other municipalities across 18 different states have already done the same. City of Ithaca Mayor Svante Myrick says that by removing the box identifying a job applicant as a former felon, it eliminates bias, and forces employers to look at only a candidates skills and experience.
