First responders rescued a man from Cayuga Lake in Ithaca last night. According to the Ithaca Fire Department, they were dispatched by Tompkins County 911 at approximately 7:45pm for a report of a man who drown in the lake. When firefighters arrived on scene, friends of the 41-year-old man had dragged him to the shore where they had been performing CPR. Ithaca firefighters and paramedics from Bangs Ambulance took over medical care upon their arrival. The man was transported by rescue boat to a marina where a landing zone was set up nearby at Cass Park. He was transported by air to Upstate Medical Center for treatment of his injuries.
