Corning teacher, coach facing child endangerment charges

A teacher and coach with the Corning-Painted Post School District has been arrested on child endangerment charges.

Following an investigation, 50-year-old Painted Post resident Eric M. Kizis has been charged with two counts of endangering the welfare of a child.

Kizis has been a teacher in the school district since 2007 and was the varsity baseball coach from 2017 to 2025. He also coached bowling for several seasons.

The investigation was conducted by the Steuben County District Attorney’s Office.

The Corning-Painted Post School District told WETM-TV that Kizis is on administrative leave and the district has no further comment.
