A Montour man is facing charges after he allegedly struck a construction zone flagger on purpose and left the scene.
According to the New York State Police, 20-year-old Ryan R. Sochia was operating his 1999 Ford Mustang when he drove up to an active construction zone and struck a flagger with the vehicle.
Sochia then left the scene of the incident, which occurred on Tuesday, July 14 on Ridge Road in Horseheads.
He has been charged with felony assault in the second degree and misdemeanor counts of reckless endangerment, reckless driving, aggravated unlicensed operation, leaving the scene of a personal injury accident and multiple vehicle and traffic violations.
The construction worker was transported to a local hospital for non-life threatening injuries. Sochia was processed in the Town of Horseheads Court and released after posting $1,080 bail.
