Over a million people will start becoming CPR certified each year in New York State. This comes after the state of New York has made CPR training a requirement for high school graduation. The CPR training is said to take about an hour for each student, and could very well save someone’s life one day. New York State is not the first state to create such a graduation requirement. 25 other states have already required graduating high school students to be CPR certified.
