Broome County’s plan to put a drug treatment facility in the former Broome Developmental Center was met with nearly unanimous support in a standing-room-only crowd at the county library last night. The plan was announced Tuesday by Executive Jason Garnar. He says they have at least two medical providers interested in the project, but they had to prove to the state that there is a need for a long-term treatment facility in the county. They hope to bring inpatient, outpatient, and mental health services to the former BDC on Glenwood Road in Binghamton.
