With five overdose deaths since last week, Broome County District Attorney Steven Cornwell has issued a public health alert. The total number of overdose deaths stands at 14 for the month of August alone, and 58 so far in 2016. Cornwell has reached out to local police chiefs and Governor Andrew Cuomo regarding the matter.
