The Knights Inn in Endwell has been the subject of code enforcement actions, including fire code violations over the past decade.

According to records obtained by WBNG-TV from the Town of Union, inspectors and code enforcement officers were repeatedly called to the Knights Inn on East Main Street over the last 10 years.

A 2016 fire inspection discovered that two rooms were not protected by a fire detection system.

Records also show code enforcement cases including a cockroach infestation in 2025 and a hoarding case in 2026.

The records do not establish any connection to the fatal fire on June 22nd that left six people dead.

Last week’s fire remains under investigation.
