The defense team for Cal Harris continued their cross-examination of Cindy Turner, the best friend of Michele Harris yesterday morning. Court ended early on Thursday, after the son of a juror was involved in a car accident. Testimony will continue Monday. Also on Monday, Cal Harris’ defense attorneys are fighting for the ability to enter evidence they said will not only prove their client’s innocence, but is strong enough to prove that two other men are responsible for the murder of Michele Harris. A primo hearing was held to decide whether Harris’ attorneys have enough solid evidence to back up their third party defense. The defense team plans to argue that two customers at the Waverly bar where Michele worked, are responsible for her disappearance. The prosecution argued the relevance of the evidence. It believes the evidence shouldn’t be allowed, as it is simply hearsay. On Monday, the judge will decide how much evidence the defense needs to submit for review, and whether it will be allowed to present this evidence to the jury.
