The Tioga Center man accused of killing his housemate is due back in court today. 62-year-old Douglas Every is accused of stabbing 39-year-old Milton Jump in the chest during an altercation back in late October at their home on Thorn Hollow Road. Every was indicted back in February on felony counts of second-degree murder and tampering with physical evidence. He pleaded not guilty to the charges and is free on $225,000 bail while his case is pending in Tioga County Court. The evidence tampering charge comes after investigators allege that Every tried to prevent blood and/or DNA evidence from being lifted off the knife used in the stabbing. Every himself dialed 911 following the incident.
