By order of Governor Andrew Cuomo, the State Department of Corrections and Community Services is barring all registered sex offenders from playing ‘Pokemon Go’ as a condition of their supervised released. Pokemon Go is a game that requires players to walk through the community, often visiting several common areas, which can lead to interaction among strangers. Governor Cuomo has also sent a letter to the software developer, Niantic, asking for their help in prohibiting sex offenders from playing the game.
