Waverly and Elmira Notre Dame split their two regular season meetings this year, but the rubber match was all Waverly as the Wolverines dismissed the Crusaders 69-49 in a boys basketball divisional tiebreaker last night. Waverly opened the game on a 22-8 run and didn’t look back as they avenged their only loss of the season, a double-OT thriller in December. Since that loss, they have reeled off 18 straight wins to tie a school record, and will look for 19 when they play Trumansburg tomorrow at TC3 for the IAC Large School Championship.
