Pa. man facing charges after crash in Broome County

A Pennsylvania man is facing multiple felony charges after crashing his vehicle with two small children inside in Broome County last week.

According to the Broome County Sheriff’s Office, 42-year-old Susquehanna, Pa. resident Jason M. Delong was driving on Route 369 in Fenton on Thursday, May 26th when he left the roadway and struck a guardrail. The car crossed two lanes of traffic before coming to rest on Gould Road.

When first responders arrived, Delong and two young children were found inside a nearby residence. There were no child safety seats found in the vehicle.

According to police, Delong displayed signs of impairment and failed a standard field sobriety test. He was also found to have an outstanding arrest warrant from Pennsylvania for violating probation.

Delong was charged with felony counts of aggravated DWI with child passenger under 16, driving while impaired by drugs, aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle and misdemeanor counts of reckless endangerment.
