Ulster man sentenced for sexually abusing child in 1990s

An Ulster man has been sentenced for child sex abuse crimes that took place in the 1990s.

According to the Bradford County District Attorney’s Office, 62-year-old Duane E. Smith was sentenced to a minimum of 11 months to a maximum of 23 months behind bars for the crimes of statutory sexual assault and unlawful contact with a minor, both felonies.

The Pennsylvania State Police conducted the investigation into Smith abusing a child back in the 1990s.

Smith will serve eight years of probation and will have to register as a sex offender for a period of 10 years.
