The Hammondsport Department of Public Works building was destroyed by a fire early Wednesday morning.
The fire was reported at around 2 am on Wednesday at the building on Back Valley Road in Hammondsport.
When firefighters arrived, the entire building was up in flames.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
Firefighters from across Steuben County along with the Steuben County Sheriff’s Office and New York State Police responded to the scene.
