A Tompkins County man was found guilty of burglary in Schuyler County Court earlier this month.
According to the Schuyler County District Attorney’s Office, 43-year-old Newfield resident Eric Walker was convicted of burglary in the third degree, which is a Class D felony.
The conviction stems from an incident on January 23, 2025 when Walker was found inside a building in Hector without the owner’s permission. Police said he was in the building with the intention of stealing items from the property.
Walker faces up to 3 ½ to 7 years in state prison for the crime.
