Officials say bad wiring is what caused a Binghamton apartment to catch fire. The Binghamton Fire Department responded to a duplex at 62 Bigelow Street around 9:30 Saturday night. The electrical fire started in the wall of the upstairs apartment, leaving the upstairs bedroom and bathroom damaged. According to the fire officials, the tenants will be able to stay in the apartments because the damage was not extensive, with the bottom apartment sustaining no damage.
