Binghamton City Mayor Rich David delivered his 2017 Budget Address last night. Included in the budget for next year is a tax cut for city residents. While the cut is less than one percent, council members say that it is heading in the right direction. Also included in next year’s budget is a budget of $5.6 million to improve approximately 15 miles of city streets and underground utilities. Another $330,000 has been allocated to take down dozens of blighted properties in the city as well. The entire budget for Binghamton in 2017 is set at $92.1 million as Binghamton continues to pay off more debt than it accrues.
