A newly renovated homeless shelter in Binghamton will be opening its doors to families and veterans. Coordinators at Volunteers of America say the shelter will be letting clients back in after upgrading the building and adding new apartments. The renovations were funded by grants from the Home Depot Foundation, the City of Binghamton, and the Community Foundation of South Central New York. The shelter plans to begin working with Social Services to fill the shelter with families by the end of the week.
