Binghamton Police have arrested a man following a report of shots fired on the city’s north side. Around 10:50 Thursday night, police were called to the corner of Morgan and Chenango Street. There, they recovered a 12-gauge shotgun along with several 9 millimeter shell casings. On Sunday, police announced the arrest of 29-year-old Roger Griffin, in connection with the gunshots. Griffin initially gave police a false name and is a state parolee under supervision in the Bronx. He has been charged with criminal possession of a weapon in the third degree, and was sent to city lock-up pending his arraignment. The investigation into the shots is ongoing and anyone with information should call the Binghamton Detectives at 772-7080.
