Some changes may be coming to the carousel at Ross Park Zoo in Binghamton. The City of Binghamton has recently applied for a $500,000 grant which would allow them to both relocate the carousel, as well as make some aesthetic repairs. The carousel wouldn’t be moved more than a few hundred yards away to a grassy knoll further up the hill at the zoo. The admissions booths would also be moved to keep the carousel free for the public. The total cost of the project is just under $750,000. If the grant is approved, the City of Binghamton would pick up the remaining $250,000 for the project not covered.
