The Front Street exit off State Route 17 east will be closed for approximately two months as the ramp is rebuilt, according to the New York State Department of Transportation. The work will begin 9 a.m. Monday. NYS DOT says a signal detour will be put in place. The signal will guide drivers to Interstate 81 north to Front Street via exit 5. Transportation officials recommend drivers using this route to stay in the left lane through the construction area. As a reminder, fines are doubled for work zone infractions.
