A woman has been arrested after she was caught driving a stolen vehicle and tried to evade the police. 33-year-old MaryAnn Zupo of Binghamton was driving along Lake Avenue in Binghamton around 2 o’clock Tuesday morning when a Broome County Sheriff’s deputy saw the vehicle, and upon a registration check, discovered it had been reported stolen out of Delaware County. The vehicle was originally reported stolen on June 6th. As the deputy pulled up to the vehicle, Zupo got out of the car and ran off. She was found a short distance away and taken into custody. According to police, Zupo did not have a valid driver’s license. She’s been charged with criminal possession of stolen property, a felony, along with aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle, a misdemeanor. She was arraigned in the Town of Chenango Court and sent to the Broome County jail without bail.
