A Town of Union man pleaded guilty to stalking a witness in his previous federal prosecution. 59-year-old Paul Ross had already pleaded guilty back in 2008 to trying to extort $20,000 from an unnamed victim, resulting in him being sentenced 27 months in prison with three years of supervised release. Court documents now allege that Ross began electronically stalking the victim following his sentence, sending thousands of threatening messages to people connected to the victim. He was indicted back in October and is being held in pretrial detention. With the guilty plea, he could face up to five years in jail, a $250,000 fine, and three years of supervised release. His sentencing has been scheduled for June.
