Students at SUNY Broome started their first day of classes with plenty of spirit and determination for the coming year. Tuesday, nearly 6,000 students traveled through campus outlining their schedules and searching for the right classrooms. The campus has seen a 1 percent increase in student population in the past year, and a 2 percent increase in full-time students. SUNY Broome administrators say they see determination in students, many of whom are coming to campus with a distinct career path in mind. The campus also opened the doors Tuesday to its new Natural Science Building. An official grand opening for that building is expected in the coming weeks.
