A Town of Triangle mobile home was damaged by a chimney fire Sunday morning. Firefighters were able to knock down the flames quickly and managed to save a pet cat from the residence. Just after 10:30 Sunday morning firefighters responded to 3409 Route 206 where they found heavy smoke and a fire that had spread into the ceiling of the home. The fire was able to be doused within fifteen minutes. Three residents of the home were able to safely escape, and no injuries were reported. The home itself was left with severe damage. Firefighters from Whitney Point, Killawog, Lisle, Maine, Greene, Chenango and Chenango Forks all responded to the scene.
