A Candor woman was killed in a head-on collision Tuesday afternoon on State Route 17 eastbound. 79-year-old Shirley McGee was reportedly driving west on the eastbound lane of Route 17 when she collided with a pick-up truck driven by 34-year-old Nickolas Little of Genesee, NY. McGee was pronounced dead at the scene, and Little received non-life-threatening injuries in the crash, which took place shortly after 2:30 near Exit 62 in Nichols. Little had two passengers in the pick-up truck, and all three were transported to Robert Packer Hospital by ambulance for non-life-threatening injuries. Toxicology reports are pending as state police investigate the incident. An autopsy is scheduled to be performed today at Lourdes Hospital in Binghamton. The deadly crash resulted in a lane closure on 17 East for several hours. State Police, the Tioga County Sheriff’s Department, New York State DOT, Nichols Fire, Tioga Center Fire, along with Nichols and Greater Valley EMS all responded to the scene.
