Asteelflash in Owego has advised the New York Department of Labor that it intends to reduce its workforce this summer. A plant layoff notice was filed indicating that 34 people will be affected by the layoffs at the company’s facility on Route 38 near the Tioga County Jail. According to the Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification, which the company is required to file, the layoffs will occur on June 27th. The company provides electronic manufacturing services to a number of facilities worldwide. The plant in Owego was formerly owned by Catalyst Manufacturing Services before being acquired by Asteelflash back in 2012.
