Emergency work will begin today to fix a ruptured water main under the intersection of Front and Lake Streets in Owego. The work will close one lane of traffic on Front Street and all of Lake Street. They hope to have the streets back open tomorrow. Sidewalks and businesses along both streets will remain open today. A more extensive project will take place in April to replace the water line under Lake Street that was installed in 1882. That project will close Lake Street for at least a month, but a start date has not been set. We will update you as more details are announced.
