Part of East Main Street in Owego will be closed today as SUEZ replaces a 12-inch valve under the street’s intersection with Farm Street. Water will have to be turned off to 50 customers in the area while the work is conducted, and those homeowners have been notified. Once service is restored, customers may temporarily see discolored water due to sediment entering the system. Suez says it can be cleared by running the cold water for several minutes. East Main Street will be closed to traffic between Fulton and Division Street for the work.
