Sayre resident wins Guthrie Wineglass Marathon

Two runners with ties to the region brought home titles at the Guthrie Wineglass Marathon over the weekend.

Sayre resident Sadie James won the women’s race in two hours, 48 minutes and 58 seconds.

The men’s race was won by Ithaca College graduate Dennis Ryan, who finished the marathon on two hours, 25 minutes and 23 seconds.

Ryan, who now lives in New York City, won the race in his Wineglass Marathon debut.

James is originally from Maine, where she had previously won the Sugarloaf Marathon.
