Victims in fatal Dryden fire identified

The victims in the fatal fire in Dryden last Friday have been identified.

According to the Tompkins County Sheriff’s Office, 37-year-old Kayla Wood and 47-year-old Dennis Davis were killed in the incident. Two dogs also died in the fire.

The fire occurred just after midnight on Friday on Lake Road in Dryden.

Five residents from the first floor of the home were able to evacuate.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.

The following fire departments assisted the Dryden Fire Department during the incident: Freeville, Varna, McLean, Tompkins County Airport, Lansing, Groton, Cortlandville, Virgil, Harford, Cayuga Heights and Marathon.
