Tornado confirmed in Broome, Delaware Counties

The National Weather Service confirmed that tornado activity was observed in both Broome and Delaware Counties on Saturday.

The tornado touched down in the Town of Sanford at 6:12 pm on Saturday.

It traveled nearly 16 miles through Deposit and Hale Eddy before touching down in Hancock at 6:31.

Officials said damage was consistent with an EF1 tornado that traveled at 95 mile per hour with a 105 miles per hour microburst.

No injuries have been reported from the incident.
