A Chemung County man will spend years in state prison after he repeatedly rammed his truck into another vehicle in 2024.
A jury found 40-year-old Ryan Purvis guilty of two counts of assault in the second degree and one count of criminal mischief. He was acquitted on two counts of attempted assault.
Police said Purvis intentionally rammed his pickup truck into the back of a van at a high rate of speed in the Town of Chemung on Feb. 29, 2024.
The van went off the roadway and rolled over. Both people inside the vehicle suffered injuries.
Purvis could face up to seven years in prison when he is sentenced in August.
