ELMIRA, N.Y. — A community picnic to benefit sheltered animals in the Southern Tier is planned for Thursday, July 30, at Teal Park in Elmira.
The event will run from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m., weather permitting, with proceeds supporting the Elmira Animal Shelter and Southern Tier Animal Control.
Outback Steakhouse will provide food beginning at 5:30 p.m. until 7 p.m., or while supplies last. The menu will include hamburgers, hot dogs, macaroni and cheese, potato salad, chips, and beverages available for purchase.
Live music will be provided by the Dean Globe Band beginning at 6:30 p.m., and a 50/50 raffle drawing is scheduled for 8 p.m.
Organizers are also encouraging attendees to bring donations of pet food to support the two organizations. Monetary donations will also be accepted, with checks payable to Home Veterinary Care, All Ears for STAC, or PAWS of New York for the Elmira Animal Shelter.
