One person was killed and several others injured in a two-car crash in Schuyler County early Sunday morning.
According to the New York State Police, the accident occurred at around 4:58 a.m. at the intersection of State Route 224 and State Route 13 in the Town of Cayuta.
An investigation revealed a 2023 Tesla was traveling north on 224 when it failed to stop at a red light and entered the intersection. The Tesla struck a 2023 Dodge Charger traveling East through the intersection on Route 13 with a green light.
A rear-seat passenger in the Tesla was transported to the Robert Packer Hospital in Sayre, where they were pronounced dead.
The driver of the Tesla suffered serious but non-life threatening injuries. Another passenger was transported to the hospital with life-threatening injuries.
The driver of the Dodge was transported to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
The investigation into the accident is ongoing.
